          This Privacy Policy explains what information Letterfly collects
          and processes, how it is collected, why it is used,
          when it is shared with service providers,
          and the choices available to users.

        <h2>1. Information We Collect and How We Collect It</h2>

          Letterfly collects information that users provide directly,
          information generated when users use the service,
          information received from authentication and payment providers,
          and limited technical information processed by service providers
          that support Letterfly's operation.
        </p>

        <h3>Account and authentication information</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>
            Google or Apple account identifiers used to authenticate your account;
          </li>

          <li>
            Email address when it is made available by Google,
            Apple, or the applicable authentication provider;
          </li>

          <li>
            Firebase user identifier (Firebase UID);
          </li>

          <li>
            Authentication and account-status information
            needed to maintain and secure your Letterfly account.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          Letterfly does not display your Google or Apple account information
          to other Letterfly users.
        </p>

        <h3>Profile and eligibility information</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>Nickname;</li>
          <li>Date of birth;</li>
          <li>Calculated age and adult-eligibility status;</li>
          <li>Gender;</li>
          <li>Country or region;</li>
          <li>Matching or recipient preferences selected in the app.</li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          This information is collected when you create or update
          your Letterfly profile and is used to determine eligibility,
          provide matching features, and operate the service.
        </p>

        <h3>Messages and user-generated content</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>New firefly messages;</li>
          <li>Conversation messages;</li>
          <li>Conversation and read status;</li>
          <li>
            Other information voluntarily included by a user
            in a message or support request.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          Messages are collected when you submit them through Letterfly
          and are stored and transmitted as necessary
          to deliver the messaging service.
        </p>

        <h3>Safety and moderation information</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>Reports and report reasons;</li>
          <li>Blocking records;</li>
          <li>Relevant message evidence associated with a report;</li>
          <li>Moderation decisions and enforcement actions;</li>
          <li>Appeals and review records;</li>
          <li>
            Records reasonably necessary to investigate abuse,
            fraud, safety incidents, or violations of our policies.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <h3>Purchases and subscriptions</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>Product identifiers;</li>
          <li>Purchase and transaction status;</li>
          <li>Subscription entitlement and expiration status;</li>
          <li>Purchase-verification information;</li>
          <li>Purchased credit balances;</li>
          <li>
            Store transaction information made available
            by the Apple App Store or Google Play.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          Letterfly does not directly collect or store
          your App Store or Google Play payment-card number.
          Payment processing is performed by the applicable storefront.
        </p>

        <h3>Notifications and technical information</h3>

        <ul>
          <li>Push notification tokens;</li>
          <li>Notification language preference;</li>
          <li>Last activity time;</li>
          <li>App version and platform information;</li>
          <li>
            Technical, security, fraud-prevention,
            and service-error information generated while operating Letterfly.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <h3>Advertising and consent information</h3>

        <p>
          Where advertisements are available,
          advertising providers may process limited device,
          application, advertising, consent,
          and ad-interaction information needed to provide,
          measure, secure, and personalize advertisements,
          subject to your consent choices and applicable platform rules.
        </p>

        <h2>2. How We Use Information</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly uses information for the following purposes:
        </p>

        <ul>
          <li>Creating, authenticating, and maintaining user accounts;</li>

          <li>
            Determining whether a user satisfies
            Letterfly's minimum age requirement;
          </li>

          <li>
            Providing profiles, matching,
            messaging, and conversation features;
          </li>

          <li>
            Delivering push notifications
            about new fireflies, messages, and account-related events;
          </li>

          <li>
            Applying sending limits, conversation rules,
            and purchased-credit balances;
          </li>

          <li>
            Processing and verifying purchases,
            subscriptions, restorations, and entitlements;
          </li>

          <li>
            Displaying and measuring advertisements,
            subject to applicable consent requirements;
          </li>

          <li>
            Detecting, reviewing, and preventing abuse,
            fraud, harassment, spam, unsafe conduct,
            and policy violations;
          </li>

          <li>
            Processing reports, blocks,
            enforcement actions, and appeals;
          </li>

          <li>Providing customer support;</li>

          <li>
            Maintaining service security,
            reliability, and technical operation;
          </li>

          <li>
            Complying with applicable legal obligations
            and responding to lawful requests.
          </li>
        </ul>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>3. Automated Safety Systems and Third-Party AI</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly uses automated safety systems
          to assist with moderation of user-generated content.
        </p>

        <p>
          In particular, the text of a new first-contact message
          may be submitted for automated safety analysis
          before it is delivered to another user.
          When a user report is submitted,
          relevant message content may also be analyzed
          as part of the safety review process.
        </p>

        <p>
          Letterfly uses
          <strong>Google Vertex AI (Gemini)</strong>
          as a third-party artificial intelligence service
          for certain moderation functions.
          This means that the message text or relevant conversation excerpts
          described above may be transmitted to Google
          for the limited purpose of performing safety analysis.
        </p>

        <p>
          Letterfly does not intentionally send your Google or Apple password,
          payment-card information,
          or other authentication credentials to the AI moderation service.
        </p>

        <p>
          Before messaging features are enabled,
          Letterfly presents users with this Privacy Policy
          and obtains affirmative acceptance of the privacy terms.
          That consent includes the limited processing
          and transmission of message content described in this section
          for safety and moderation purposes.
        </p>

        <p>
          Automated systems may assist in determining whether content
          violates Letterfly's safety rules.
          Where an enforcement decision is eligible for appeal,
          Letterfly may provide an appeal mechanism
          and human review.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly uses third-party services
          only where reasonably necessary
          to operate, secure, monetize, and support the service.
          Depending on the feature used,
          information may be processed by the following providers:
        </p>

          <li>
            <strong>Apple</strong> —
            Sign in with Apple,
            App Store distribution,
            In-App Purchase,
            subscriptions, and related storefront services;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Google</strong> —
            Google Sign-In and related authentication services;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Google Cloud and Firebase</strong> —
            authentication, database storage,
            server functions, account management,
            security, and backend infrastructure;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Google Vertex AI (Gemini)</strong> —
            automated safety and moderation analysis
            as described in this Privacy Policy;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Google Mobile Ads / AdMob</strong> —
            advertising delivery, advertising consent,
            fraud prevention, and advertising measurement;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>RevenueCat</strong> —
            purchase and subscription entitlement management
            and synchronization between store purchases
            and your Letterfly account;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Expo</strong> —
            push-notification delivery infrastructure
            and related technical services;
          </li>

          <li>
            <strong>Google Play</strong> —
            Android app distribution,
            digital purchases, and subscriptions
            where Letterfly is available on Android.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          Information is shared with these providers
          only to the extent reasonably necessary
          for the applicable service or function.
        </p>

        <p>
          Letterfly requires third-party service providers
          that process user information on its behalf
          to handle that information under applicable contractual,
          security, privacy, and legal requirements
          providing protection consistent with this Privacy Policy
          and applicable platform requirements.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>5. Advertising, Tracking, and Privacy Choices</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly may display standard interstitial advertisements
          and optional rewarded advertisements.
          Google Mobile Ads and Google's consent-management services
          may be used to provide and manage these advertisements.
        </p>

        <p>
          Advertising behavior may vary according to your location,
          privacy choices, device settings,
          and applicable laws and platform requirements.
        </p>

        <p>
          Where consent is required,
          Letterfly or its advertising provider
          presents an appropriate consent interface
          before processing information for the applicable advertising purpose.
        </p>

        <p>
          Where Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework applies,
          tracking permission will be handled in accordance
          with Apple's requirements.
          Letterfly does not require users to allow tracking
          in order to access the app's core messaging features.
        </p>

        <p>
          Where available,
          users can review or change advertising privacy choices
          through Letterfly's advertising privacy settings
          or through applicable device and platform settings.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>6. Push Notifications</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly may request permission
          to send push notifications.
          If permission is granted,
          a push notification token may be generated
          and stored to deliver notifications
          about new fireflies, new messages,
          or important account and safety events.
        </p>

        <p>
          Push notifications are optional.
          You may disable notification permission
          through your device settings.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>7. Data Retention and Account Deletion</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly retains personal information
          only for as long as reasonably necessary
          for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy
          or as required by applicable law.
        </p>

        <p>
          While your account is active,
          account and profile information is retained
          as necessary to provide Letterfly.
          Messages and conversation records are retained
          as necessary to provide the messaging service.
        </p>

        <p>
          When you delete your Letterfly account,
          Letterfly deletes the account record,
          active profile information,
          and personal data and user-generated content
          associated with that account,
          except information that Letterfly
          is legally required to retain.
        </p>

        <p>
          Where applicable law requires specific records
          to be retained after account deletion,
          those records will be limited to what is required,
          protected from ordinary use,
          retained only for the required period,
          and deleted when the retention obligation ends.
        </p>

        <p>
          Users can initiate account deletion
          directly in the Letterfly app
          through the account settings.
          Information about the deletion process
          is also available on our
          <a href="delete-account.html">Account Deletion</a> page.
        </p>

        <p>
          Deleting a Letterfly account
          does not automatically cancel
          an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.
          If you have an active subscription,
          you must separately manage or cancel it
          through the applicable storefront.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>8. Your Privacy Rights and Consent Choices</h2>

        <p>
          Depending on your country or region
          and applicable law,
          you may have rights regarding your personal information,
          including rights to:
        </p>

        <ul>
          <li>Request access to personal information about you;</li>
          <li>Request correction of inaccurate information;</li>
          <li>Request deletion of eligible personal information;</li>
          <li>Object to or restrict certain processing;</li>
          <li>Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;</li>
          <li>
            Exercise other privacy rights
            provided by applicable law.
          </li>
        </ul>

        <p>
          You can delete your account through the Letterfly app
          or use the instructions on our
          <a href="delete-account.html">Account Deletion</a> page.
        </p>

        <p>
          Advertising consent can be reviewed
          through the privacy options provided in the app
          where that feature is available.
          System permissions such as notifications
          and tracking can also be changed
          through your device settings.
        </p>

      <section>
        <h2>9. International Processing</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly and its service providers
          may process information in countries or regions
          other than the country where you live.
        </p>

        <p>
          For example,
          certain safety-analysis data submitted
          to Google Vertex AI (Gemini)
          may be processed using Google Cloud infrastructure
          located in the United States.
          Other providers may process information
          in locations used to provide their respective services.
        </p>

        <p>
          Where international transfer requirements apply,
          Letterfly and its providers will use
          appropriate contractual,
          technical, organizational,
          or legal safeguards required by applicable law.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>10. Security</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly uses reasonable technical
          and organizational safeguards designed
          to protect information from unauthorized access,
          alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
        </p>

        <p>
          These measures may include authentication,
          access controls, server-side validation,
          restricted administrative access,
          and security monitoring.
        </p>

        <p>
          No internet service or electronic storage method
          can guarantee absolute security.
          Users should also protect access
          to their Google or Apple account
          and to the devices on which Letterfly is used.
        </p>
      </section>


      <section>
        <h2>11. Protection of Minors</h2>

        <p>
          Letterfly is intended only for adults
          aged 18 or older.
          Users under 18 may not create an account,
          access, or use Letterfly.
        </p>

        <p>
          Date-of-birth information
          and related eligibility information
          are used to help enforce this restriction.
        </p>

        <p>
          If Letterfly becomes aware
          that a person under 18
          has created or used an account
          in violation of the service requirements,
          Letterfly may restrict the account
          and take appropriate steps
          to delete the associated information
          in accordance with applicable law
          and safety obligations.
        </p>

        <h2>12. Changes to This Privacy Policy</h2>
