Do not rely only on an in-app report. Contact the appropriate local emergency service, law-enforcement agency, or child-protection authority immediately.

- Adults may not knowingly allow a person under 18 to use their Letterfly account.
- Letterfly may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that the account is being used by a person under 18 or that an age restriction has been circumvented.

- Attempting to use Letterfly to direct another person to an external service for the purpose of exploiting or sexually contacting a minor.
3. Sexualized Content Involving Minors
Sexualized content involving minors is prohibited regardless of whether it is shared as an image, video, text, link, description, request, or other form of communication.
Content that depicts, promotes, encourages, facilitates, or sexualizes the exploitation of children may be prohibited even where the content does not depict a real child.
4. Reporting Child Safety Concerns in Letterfly
Users can report another user or relevant content using Letterfly's in-app reporting tools.
When submitting a report, select the reason that most closely describes the safety concern. Relevant conversation information may be preserved for investigation and enforcement.
Users may also block another user using the blocking function provided in Letterfly. Blocking is intended to prevent or restrict further interaction between the affected accounts.
Child safety concerns may also be reported directly using the contact information provided at the end of this policy.
5. Immediate Safety Measures
Where Letterfly receives a credible child-safety report, safety signal, or other information indicating a potential risk to a minor, we may take immediate protective action.
Depending on the circumstances, actions may include:
- Restricting messaging or account functionality;
- Temporarily suspending an account;
- Permanently terminating an account;
- Preserving relevant evidence;
- Preventing attempts to circumvent an enforcement action;
- Taking other measures reasonably necessary to protect users or others.
Where immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety, Letterfly may act before completing the ordinary enforcement or appeal process.
6. Legal Reporting and Cooperation
If Letterfly becomes aware of suspected illegal child sexual abuse material, exploitation, or a credible threat of harm to a child, we may preserve relevant information, make reports where required by applicable law, respond to valid legal requests, and cooperate with appropriate authorities as legally required.
Nothing in this policy is intended to interfere with mandatory reporting obligations, lawful investigations, or other child-protection requirements.
7. Handling Child Safety Evidence
Information associated with a child-safety investigation may include reports, account identifiers, relevant conversation content, enforcement records, and related technical information.
Access to child-safety evidence is restricted to personnel or service providers who reasonably require access for safety, investigation, security, enforcement, legal compliance, or related purposes.
Relevant records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to investigate potential abuse, prevent repeated violations, protect users, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, or cooperate with lawful investigations.
Retention and deletion of this information are also governed by our Privacy Policy.
8. If a Minor Accesses Letterfly
If Letterfly becomes aware that a person under 18 has created or used a Letterfly account, we may restrict or terminate the account.
We may also take appropriate steps to delete personal information associated with the account, subject to information that must be retained for a valid safety, legal, security, or enforcement purpose.
A parent, legal guardian, or other person who reasonably believes that a minor is using Letterfly may contact us using the child-safety contact information below.
9. False Age Information and Circumvention
Letterfly prohibits attempts to bypass its adults-only restriction.
This includes:
- Providing a false date of birth;
- Using another person's account to bypass an age restriction;
- Creating another account after an age-related restriction;
- Assisting a minor in bypassing Letterfly's eligibility requirements.
Accounts involved in such circumvention may be restricted or permanently terminated.
10. Safety Systems and Moderation
Letterfly uses moderation and safety systems intended to reduce abusive, illegal, or unsafe user-generated content.
These systems may include automated analysis of certain new first-contact messages, analysis of content associated with user reports, account restrictions, user blocking, and human review where appropriate.
Additional information about automated processing and third-party AI services is available in our Privacy Policy.
11. Do Not Send Illegal Material to Letterfly Support
When reporting a child-safety concern by email, do not download, copy, resend, forward, upload, or attach suspected CSAM or other illegal sexual material involving a minor.
Instead, provide non-content information that may help identify the relevant incident, such as:
- Your Letterfly account information, where relevant;
- The other user's nickname or account information, if available;
- The approximate date and time of the incident;
- Conversation or report identifiers, if visible in the app;
- A written description of the safety concern without reproducing illegal material.
12. Child Safety Contact
Letterfly maintains a contact channel for child-safety concerns and urgent safety reports.
Please include “Letterfly Child Safety Report” in the subject line and provide relevant non-illegal identifying information about the incident where possible.
Do not attach, forward, or reproduce suspected child sexual abuse material.
